To learn more about how humans figured out that the Earth rotates (and orbits around the Sun), we recommend reading Finding Our Place in the Solar System: The Scientific Story of the Copernican Revolution, by Todd Timberlake and Paul Wallace. Dr. Timberlake is a current physics and astronomy professor at Berry and Dr. Wallace is a former Berry professor.
